“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and unspeakable love.”
Washington Irving
I am deeply committed to ensuring that children, youth and adults have access to safe, accepting and healing spaces to explore and express their unique experiences of living with illness, grief and trauma. My counselling practice and the relationship we co-create is one of those spaces.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with an additional 20 years of experience and related certifications, including Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Centred practices (CBT-T, ACT, Somatic Experiencing and Family Systems work), Contemplative End-of-Life Care and Expressive-Arts therapy.
I work with individuals through an integrated approach that is collaborative, respectful of unique lived experiences and relationship-based.
I am also an experienced group facilitator, Grief Educator and program consultant to Children’s Mental Health and Hospice organizations.
I look forward to our work together.
